This is a group Breakout featuring the work of three presenters: Caroline Jensen, Julie Peveto and Kellie Bieser. Caroline Jensen, A Sony Artisan of Imagery, is a photographic artist living on the prairie. Her favorite things include cozy nights in front of her natural wood fireplace, camping in her Airstream, and read alouds with her children. Kellie Bieser is a wife, mother, and visual historian based in Columbus, OH. Assisted by a bottomless cup of black coffee, Kellie likes to spend her time away from the camera running, reading, and playing in the yard with the kids. Julie Peveto is a project manager by day and a photographer in her free time. She is always looking for beautiful light and composition whether she is shooting portraits of her daughter or the food on her table. She recently relocated from suburban Dallas to the woods of Northern New Jersey.

It has all the information, inspiration and motivation you’ll need and more to venture into the art and styling of food photography. From the gorgeous PDF to tons of detailed videos with pull backs, this is an incredible value and has enough material for a full class! Any one of the instructors is fabulous but to have all three of them go over their process adds so much more value. What I found particularly useful is the detailed thought process behind each photo, including options for beautiful natural and artificial light setups. It’s like standing next to the instructor and having them explain all the details of why and how of the photograph. I learned so much about styling and the importance of textures and backgrounds. You’ll be wowed and amazed at all the gorgeous images and these ideas can by translated to still life photography as well. Highly recommended as one of the best breakouts ever and I have taken many!
I wanted to have a better way to look at food when I go to photograph it, and this breakout is providing that. I’m getting to think and see through the eyes of Kellie, Caroline and Julie. The PDF in particular helped me sort my thoughts while reading theirs and seeing the images that came from those thoughts. I better know the light I prefer, the textures, the mood – all of which will both make me better at photographing food as well as help me skip many frustrating attempts. So glad I jumped in!
