about your presenters

This is a group Breakout featuring the work of a group of presenters: Courtney Larson, Ginger Unzueta, Clare Barker Wells, Anda Panciuk, and Cody & Allison.

Courtney Larson: Storyteller, Documentarian, Boss-lady, Creme Brulee lover, Googling Expert, Golden Girl. She has always told stories, whether it be crayola doodles, painting on a canvas, traveling the country with fellow actors, running her own jewelry business, or living abroad, she has been sharing the narratives of her life and of those around her. As a devoted artist and on the adventure of life that is motherhood, photography has become her medium of choice…and the rest is history. She lives in Phoenix, AZ with her beautiful ginger husband and their three children (nope, no gingers yet).

Ginger Unzueta believes there is beauty to be found every day. Her daily life as a mother of four is often the subject of her words and images. Ginger is passionate about encouraging others on the journey of motherhood. She strives to live with grace and gratitude and seeks to share the love and light of Christ.

Clare Barker Wells is an award-winning British photographer and educator based in Singapore (but available worldwide!) Her favourite things to capture are families in serene beautiful moments, set in gorgeous rich light. Her favourite thing to teach is HOW to create those beautiful serene moments, where to find those families, and how to see your own gorgeous light.

Anda Panciuk is an occasionally fearless photographer whose passion lies in exploring the unknown and seizing the day, all the while capturing light, lines and moments, primarily via street and travel photography. She is known to jump first, ask questions later, and to strike up conversations with complete strangers wherever her travels take her. She leads a bilingual life in Montreal with her French-Canadian husband, two children, and Miss Ruby, her crazy Cocker Spaniel.

Cody Harris is a wedding and portrait photographer based in Nashville, TN. His wife Allison is the other half of the business! They approach their business a little differently and believe in deeper connections with their clients and leverage those connections in every aspect of their client experience and business.

Making the Cut is such a fantastic breakout!

Posted by Gina Shupe on 10th May 2018

I have loved seeing how these very talented photographers get to their final images. There is so much video footage and each video is like being on the shoot with the photographer, but even better because you get to see the actual images they took versus just watching them shoot. In the videos they explain why they did what they did, and it is encouraging to see that not every shot is a good one. I have found this to be extremely valuable! The live run has been great with lots of extra discussion threads, creativity exercises, editing videos and live chats. I would highly recommend this breakout even if you have many other breakouts because it really is a unique opportunity to get inside the minds of a wonderful group of artists. You really don’t want to miss this one!

I HIGHLY recommend Making the Cut!!

So often when we see an image, we are just in awe wondering how the photographer got the shot. In this breakout, the presenters share their process in how they got that keeper image and what makes a winning image. So many genres are covered from documentary and travel photography to lifestyle and couples photography. There really is something for every style. The PDF is stunning and we get to know about each photographer and their approach, but the supporting videos take us deep into each image. So worth it!!

I have loved going through the videos and seeing the ‘why’ of their beautiful shots. The artists explain exactly what they were looking for as well as describing their process. I have already gleaned so much from this breakout and it is one I will go back to when I’m needing inspiration!

MAKING THE CUT is a beautifully curated breakout by five accomplished artists.

Posted by Dana Walton on 10th May 2018

I love the diversity in genre, from documentary/lifestyle, travel, to couples, weddings, and children. Something for every creative to feel inspired by. It was captivating to see what moves each artist to achieving that Final Shot and the moments that leads up to it. There are hours upon hours of video, so much beauty, detail, and introspect. To see how each artist examines their own thoughts and feelings about their process is refreshing. I absolutely love the PDF. The design is beautiful. The interviews of each artist are engaging, leaving me nodding my head in understanding and agreement with their words. After indulging in this breakout, I am excited to pick up my camera with a fresh perspective. Highly recommend!!
