about your presenters

Kelly Marleau is a documentary and lifestyle photographer based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She knows that there’s a lot more to family than what shows on the pretty, polished surface and is on a mission to find the stories that are begging to be told. Photography is her therapy and her love language and there’s no way to summarize what it means to her in only a few short words. Kelly is a mother, a wife, an avid DIYer, a historian, and a lover of insanely hot showers and spicy pickles. Kelly offers in-home sessions in Edmonton, Canada through her company, Fiddle Leaf Photography.

Jenny Rusby is a storytelling photographer at Jenny Rusby Photography in Melbourne, Australia. She loves to document the everyday, real, messy, beautiful and fleeting moments that memories are made from and stories are told about. Jenny is a wife and mom to three, the beach is her happy place, she’ll never say no to a good glass of red, and she loves stories – reading them, hearing them, watching them, and of course, capturing them.

Kelly and Jenny met on the Clickin Moms forums over 8 years ago and, along with a group of female photographers, embarked on a 365 project. After completing those projects (and a few more!), they stayed in touch over the years, each adding kids to their families and launching photography businesses. In 2017 they decided to join forces again to mentor and teach photography as a team. The duo has a serious love of iMessage, Zoom and Google docs as the tools to keep them connected across continents and time zones.

This breakout came at the perfect time!

Posted by Alyssa Koster on 24th Mar 2021

I have my first in-home lifestyle session this week and felt a good deal of anxiety going into planning it. After going through this class, my anxiety is far lower. There is a wealth of information in this short, inexpensive course. I highly recommend it! I realized that part of my anxiety was coming from an unrealistic expectation I’d set on myself to make every photo some award-winning, amazing, mind-blowing portrait. And I was struggling with envisioning that in my client’s home. Through this breakout I was reminded that lifestyle sessions are not about that, but rather about beauty in the whole story and in the everyday details. I’m now excited for my upcoming session!

    Eye-opening!!!

Posted by Anna Chaplin on 24th Mar 2021

There is so much precious information in this short, inexpensive course! I highly recommend it! The PDF has so much content, it’s almost a “how-to” bible! I realized that most of my anxiety was coming from not daring to take full control of the session and establishing a plan beforehand for what we were going to do. I am definitely going to change that going forward! Thanks for the eye-opening course, ladies! There is so much precious information in this short, inexpensive course! I highly recommend it! A Must Have!

Posted by Emily Gosbee on 24th Mar 2021

This course is a must have for any photographer looking to do in-home lifestyle photography. It explains everything that you need to know in a clear, concise and easy to digest format. I am not even through the PDF yet and know that I got way more than my money’s worth when purchasing this! I look forward to completing the course and apply my new skillset to both my client shoots as well as documenting my own family. Thank you!

    Fantastic!

Posted by Tasha on 24th Mar 2021

Just an over-arching comment to say how much I am loving how practical this material is. Absolutely fantastic for giving us actual, real life examples of solutions and for giving us the experience of actually doing the session. So good!
