Love and laughter are the primary subject for Vancouver Island-based photographer Ashley Marston. An award-winning and published Birth, Lifestyle & Documentary photographer/filmmaker (and busy mother of three), Marston strives for images that capture those two staples of family relationships, as well as the quiet moments that might otherwise go unseen. So much bang for the buck

Posted by Laura Humphrey on 15th Apr 2020

This is an amazing breakout for anyone thinking about starting a daily shooting practice or anyone just looking to find more creative inspo in their usual surroundings. Ashley shares so many tips and tricks for using drone, underwater, and thinking outside the box. Taking her advice to begin a daily shooting practice has been one of the best things I've done for my photography. I highly recommend this breakout.

What an absolute pleasure to gain insight into one of my favourite photographers. Ashley holds absolutely nothing a back and boy does she deliver on so many things. I have without a shadow of a doubt enjoyed every second of this Breakout and I’ve been totally inspired to start my own project. Your photographic eye and your warm and witty personality is infectious Ashley. Love, love, loved this, thank you!

There are courses where you learn a lot...

Posted by Meredith on 9th Apr 2020

and then there are courses where you learn a lot AND are impacted! Ashley’s course was inspiring, fresh, meaningful and teaches the art and heart of photography. I’m blown away by her personal work and she shares so much of her knowledge and her teaching style is so easy to stay engaged with. I also love that this course addressed so many topics I always wondered about…such as taking my camera places it’s odd to have a camera at, like the store. Or how to work with your kids in a manner that makes them more excited about the camera being out and on them often. She even talks about her own journey with her 365 projects, which was so helpful so that I know it’s a starting place for my first year and everything doesn’t have to be perfect to do it. She was engaged and responsive with us as participants and very encouraging. I’m so excited for my 365 journey this year and the spark it lit for my love of capturing everyday moments.
